park: Park Chan-wook wins Greatest Director at Cannes Movie Pageant | English Film Information

South Korea’s Park Chan-wook was named Greatest Director at this 12 months’s Cannes Movie Pageant on Saturday.
Park acquired the prize given to the perfect movie director for his romance ‘Resolution to Go away’ on the seventy fifth version of the competition held at Palais Lumiere in Cannes.

Yonhap information company reported Park turned the second South Korean director to win within the class, following famend filmmaker Im Kwon-taek for the historic drama ‘Chihwaseon’ in 2002.

Apart from Park, Swedish director Ruben Ostlund’s movie Triangle of Disappointment gained the Palme d’Or, prime prize of the seventy fifth Cannes Movie Pageant.

Zar Amir Ebrahimi from the movie Holy Spider gained the Award for Greatest Actress, and Music Kang-ho from the South Korean movie Dealer gained the Award for Greatest Actor.

The competition’s nine-member jury is headed by French actor Vincent Lindon, winner of the Greatest Actor Award on the 68th Cannes Movie Pageant in 2015.

This 12 months, 21 movies have been chosen to compete for the Palme d’Or.
